Marcelle McGuirk is a vocalist from northeastern PA. She has studied her art since first joining her parish choir with her grandmother at the age of 3. She has gone on since then to singing for various events and, at the age of nineteen, recording her first solo album, Echoes of Ireland.
Marcelle also loves to perform on the stage for a live audience. She has been cast in many local theatre productions, and has starred in productions of The Music Man, Sound of Music, and Sweeney Todd. She has also won several vocal competitions, including the Eisteddfod, a local Welsh competition, in Edwardsville, PA.
Marcelle was inadvertently introduced to the wonderful world of opera by a friend who needed someone to replace her in a local production of Bizet's Carmen. Marcelle accepted the challenge of quickly learning the role of Frasquita and there was no turning back after that.
Since then, Marcelle has worked tirelessly to hone her craft. She has performed numerous roles in full productions, as well as pieces for concerts, recitals and productions of opera scenes. Most recently, she moved to Philadelphia to continue her studies and will be performing in productions in early 2012 in the Philadelphia area.
